What the report contains

The main report has approximately 40 pages and is built on a catalogue of 48 factors that kept repeating in company decisions. For each factor it describes what it looked like in projects that succeeded and in those that failed. The factors were not set in advance, they emerged from the interviews. It is neither a collection of case studies nor a ranking of companies.

How strong a finding is

A factor documented in three to four companies is classed in the report as moderately strong, in five or more companies as strong. Anything mentioned only once appears at most as an example or a question, never as a finding on its own.

What the study does not claim

The study is qualitative and maps patterns and causes, not population percentages. The numbers in the report describe the sample, not the market. Companies mostly do not measure the economics of their AI projects, so the report does not state returns.
